Founder's Vision - Peter R. Teahen
“I was compelled to establish a fund in Evan’s name, dedicated to assisting the children of catastrophic disasters. In the many catastrophic disasters during which I have served as a responder, I have encountered staggering devastation in the lives of children who have suffered the loss of parents, guardians, and siblings, and need someone to help them simply survive.”
Evan's Light
In 1989, there was a very special young boy whose circumstances I credit for changing the course of my life. In his death, this young child reached into the most inner core of my being, touching me in a way that transformed me forever.
In many ways, his death was the inspiration that motivated me to commit to disaster response services for so many years. Those years have been spent developing programs to help people in disasters; lecturing on the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of a disaster response; and eventually to the writing of my first book. I often reflect on how, even in death, his impact on me has had a ripple effect on thousands of people around the world. His name is Evan.
In Evan’s name, and in memory of all the children who have tragically died in a catastrophic disaster, I have established a non-profit entity entitled, "Evan's Light". Proceeds from my books, lectures, and the generous contributions of others, help benefit children suffering in the aftermath of a catastrophic disaster.
Please help us provide shelter, food, medical care, and counseling services to these innocent children, by making a tax deductible contribution to Evan’s Light today.
